I loved the confusion of what is real and what isn't.

It is clearn in reading this play why it is an award-winning piece. Powerful, dark, funny--beautifully written dialogue and wholly realized characters.

I don't think I really like reading plays. I had to read this for my Theatre 101 class. It had an interesting plot and some very cool characters, but if I'm reading it I like to know what all is going on and that is hard to get from a brief synopsis at the beginning of the act. I can't tell the tones of their voices and it is hard to distinguish what they are feeling just through their dialogue. Anyway it was okay for a play in text.

Found this in the DePaul University library in the entirely wrong section while doing research for a non-theatre class project. Took it as a sign (I had been meaning to read it anyway) and brought it home with me that night. Read it straight through and, wow, I fell in love. Would like to direct this one day.

I have not read a play since I was in high school (which was a LONG time ago). I enjoyed it, but I am not sure why it won a Pulitzer. I am planning on reading many more plays in the near future. (Then, I may be able to realize the true merit of this play.) "Proof" was a very good start into reading plays.

Great play that the movie with Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins was based on. I taught this one to beginning lit/research students, and we had a great time talking about gender politics, the academy, and faith.

This play was a nice relaxing read with witty dialogue that made me laugh, and a story that really exposed the positive aspects and detriments attached to genius. One of my favorite plays.
