This is a rating for the entire series more than just for this specific book, I would say. It's a great read, if a bit swash-buckingly macho at times. Also, the girl on this cover is way attractive...the older version of her on the 3rd book is not, so I recommend buying 2 copies of this book, cutting out the picture from the cover, and pasting the picture over the picture on the 3rd book.

Sword & Sorcery at its best, mainly because the Tiger and Del books are told from the wonderful POV of a dour mercenary (Tiger). Great Voice. My only complaint is that Del gets a bit annoying in some of the novels.

a very good book and one that I would recommend to others who like this genre.

I don't think I could have been much more disappointed in the quality of this book. The characters were trite, the dialogue horrid, I really had a hard time getting through it and didn't bother with the rest of the series.
