K J Parker's novels all have wonderful dialogue and invariably a well-constructed plot where even the minor characters offer some insight into the human condition. These are complex, non-magical, fantasies and rely on people being practical and determined rather than airy-fairy or creating illusions to get out of a plot hole.

But be warned: K J Parker's stories may disturb people in that evil is very often a means to an end, or at least a factor in what makes people tick. There is...

    Very well done--an excellent book that pulls you in from start to finish. Can't wait to get Evil for Evil. Fantasy? Sure--the characters and the era are in that realm, but the themes are timeless.
