If you like crime fiction, urban backdrops, and nitwit crooks and human cops, then you'll love this one. Classic Elmore Leonard. Highly recommended.

Strangest book I have ever read. A murder mystery that could also be called a comedy. First book I have read by Elmore Leonard and I don't think I would look for more. I didn't hate it but didn't love it either.

Short and fun, sharp dialogue, dumb criminals, all sort of what you expect from Elmore Leonard.

Not my favorite Leonard book, but still loaded with fun, excitement and humor.

This is Leonard's first Detroit Homicide novel in twenty years or so, and it's a fun ride. A melancholy homicide detective, two corpses, two hit men, and a few other Leonardesque characters meet and bounce off of one another. As with all his books, everyone gets what they deserve... but it doesn't happen in quite the way you think it will. Great stuff.
