I just read this book for the second time and I think it was better the second time around. Donald Goines wrote from a "hood" perspective and he gave a gritty depiction of street life. I also love the fact that he was able to make it a love story. Wonderful book!

I have read all of Donald's books when I was young and still have them. He was a very good storyteller who kept my attention. Great Read!

The author of this book and many other titles mastered the art of story telling...Our stories...Our people. I don't believe no one in this genre has quite managed to capture an era in it's raw essence form the way Doanld Goines was his. I hope to be amongst the rankings someday. This book was one of my favorites out of Mr. Goines collection.
