I could have easily listed ten other Elmore Leonard books. Many try to copy his style, but it's hard to match his unblinking compassion for of his motley cast of screw-ups and eccentrics, which seem to be a lot like me (or perhaps you) on particular days. His dialogue crackles and I often find myself laughing out loud at his masterful puppet shows of crime and low-rent hubris.
