Blood Ties Book One: The Turning (Blood Ties)

by JENNIFER ARMINTROUT

I'm no coward. I want to make that perfectly clear. But after my life turned into a horror movie, I take fear a lot more seriously now. I finally became Dr. Carrie Ames just eight months ago. Then I was attacked in the hospital morgue by a vampire. Just my luck.
So now I'm a vampire, and it turns out I have a blood tie to the monster who sired me. The tie works like an invisible leash... (read more)

The 1st book in new Author Jennifer Armintrout's Blood Ties series. The book was not as violent as other reviews led me to believe. Most of the violence is insinuated rather than shown. There is one sex scene which was cringe worthy but the overall storyline was intriguing.

We are left with a cliffhanger and not really knowinging the extent of the main protagnist's relationship with her sire.

It left me wanting to know what happens next so I'll definitely pick up the next...

I resisted this one for a while, but wanted to see what all the buzz was about. In this one, vampires are evil, and after the heroine is attacked by a vampire in the hospital morgue, she’s taken in by a guy who’s a vampire slayer, and a vampire. If a new vampire swears off the evil vampire life and joins the vampire slayer ranks, then the slayers won’t try to kill them. But she’s also tied to the “vampire who made her” and goes to visit him on his estate to try to help the guy who helped...

The TV you are all talking about was based on Tanya Huff's Blood series. It has nothing to do with Jennifer Armintrout's series. Her series is one of the best on the market right now, and she ended it with a bang in the fourth installment!

If you are talking about the Blood Ties TV series, no, this is not the same story. In the shows, the main lady is a detective, right? I haven't seen it in a while. Well, anyway, in the book, the main lady works in a hospital and is turned into a vampire like right at the beginning of the book. I think you would like it more than the stuff on TV. Or maybe you won't. ^.^ I love it though!
