In a post-war universe, after two centuries of cleaning up after villains, restoring worlds, lives, and hearts, and ending wars and resolving conflicts, three young warriors finally say, “It’s time for a break.” However, they end up with more than what they bargained for as they resurface again in 21st Century New York City, with their break at a screeching halt.

As they hit the ground running and fighting, the fighters confront a series of personal concerns that had become difficult to keep out of the work arena. How far will Shourron II go to ensure the job gets done? What made Rena take the original conflict so personally that she would violate the bylaws that she herself had written? Why does Vannara constantly insist that the galaxy’s greatest criminal is innocent? Intensely personal to the characters, these questions make the readers ask themselves similar as the fighters approach the completion of their task.

Break time’s over.

Characters/People edit see section history

  • Arriella: A pyrokine by nature, Hunter at birth. Black-haired and green-eyed, practical, pragmatic and focused, she was a commander-at-arms ever since she finished her education. Though she wanted for nothing, she chose to go into the rehabilitation efforts alongside her friends. Despite her legendary temper, she is passionate about her principles, unshakably stubborn and takes great care of those around her.
  • Shourron I: The only Mage known to be born with a black aura, he was also born the strongest. For centuries, he held the title of High Mage and as time wore on, became increasingly ruthless. To him, the ends will always justify the means. He is black-haired and black-eyed and carries himself like a man to be feared.
  • Rena: The youngest of the five Cosmic siblings - extremely powerful people of unknown origin, the last five of their kind - Rena is a diplomat on the universal scale. Moderator of the Council, relief efforts coordinator - the titles are nearly endless. She often tries to get people to see how their actions affect others, and is guilty of occasionally getting very personal in her work.
  • Vannara: Wife to Shourron I of many years, a Vampire by blood and nature. She is able to absorb nearly every sort of energy there is; because of that, she and all Vampires of her kind are immune to most varieties of poison and energetic attacks. She was ranked High Vampire on her home world. Her hair is burgundy red down to her shoulders and her eyes are bright red with catlike slit pupils. Her aura is burnt-orange in color.
  • Shourron II and Makkian: Twin brothers, children of Shourron I and Vannara, look very alike, with the exception of their auras and minor features. Shourron II has navy hair and amethyst eyes, and his aura is indigo blue; he is a Mage and strong in his own right, but often overlooks minor details that prove to be important. Makkian took after his mother and is a Vampire; his hair is black with tones of red and his eyes are like Vannara's: red with cat-like pupils. His aura is also like his mother's: burnt-orange.
  • Kari: As a Seeress, Kari never fights, but her senses are sword-sharp. She is capable of sensing anyone's location anywhere in the universe, bypass most conventional shields, able to recreate events based on energetic aftertraces and project holographic images of things that she sees. Her hair is blue and curly to her shoulders and her eyes are deep gold.
