There is so much to say about it and I can't even give it any kind of justice here. Guys, you have to read it... women, it would no doubt be a good one to read...” see full review » see other reviews » |
Didn’t Like It2 of 3 members found this review helpful“Really didn't like this book. It promotes a very 2 dimensional, old fashioned image of a "good old boys" shallow jock man. I guess I'm different but I totally didn't relate to this book. He definitely doesn't speak for me.” see full review » see other reviews » |
“I've read this three times since highschool. Still one of my favorite books of all time.”

I eventually ran out of literature and picked it up. The first few chapters of the book I thought this guy was trying to tell me to beef up and go join the military and wasn't sure what was going on. As I read on this book started changing my life and I was seeing that this was what I wanted. My wife noticed a difference in me. I have noticed a difference in me. I honestly wish I could hang out with the author because he seems like a man I'd really enjoy. This book has explained a lot of things I have always wondered and wanted to know. It has shown me ways of looking at God, Jesus, my wife and myself differently. After I finished this book I did something I have never done before. I immediately started rereading it because I wished that it was not over. The cover on this book will be very worn after a few years. A must read for all men.”

Hoping for some practical advice and undecided on some doctrinal assertions. Wouldn't call it factual, but supported by a lot of anecdotal evidence, none of which is verifiable. Well written and stirring. Better than the array of "inspirational" Christian fluff and Christian "men's issues" fads out there, for certain! It might actually make a lasting difference, if it isn't too late.”
