what can i say? this book changed my whole outlook on life...I have to admit, before I read this book....I was working hard toward "the pinnacle of existance....being a Nice Guy"....I thank God for bringing this book into my life, cuz I now know that I, as a man, can be so much more than "nice".....i mean, why settle for the sandbox when there's a beach just down the road?? I would heartily recommend this book to any guy who is wondering why he doesn't feel fulfilled in marriage, or just life......also to any woman who wonders what's missing in her "Nice Guy"

One other thing I really liked in this book is that men are made to be dangerous, they are supposed to be a force to be reckoned with.....and THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE SWEPT OFF THEIR FEET BY THEIR PRINCESS :]

This is a good book. I am enjoying a lot this reading. Pleases me the author`s conviction and his inspiring view of the men`s experience on Earth. It also got closer to God. I recomend!

Well, this book is rang my bell and I'm only halfway through it....hit me exactly where I live. My father basically abandoned me and my stepfather was not only unaffirming but an absolute Anti-Hero. I've already order the rest of the books in this series that are available. Meanwhile, time to bust out with my best Alice Cooper and "No More, Mr Nice Guy" ;-)

I couldn't disagree more with the assertion that Eldridge is a theist of any stripe. I found his view of God to be Biblical. God created men and women in His image, part of that is a man's desire for adventure and risk. Since God knows the beginning and the end, there is no risk for Him. But I believe that my desire for risk and adventure, not to be confused with a lust for an adrenaline rush, is rooted in the identity of my heavenly Father.

Terrible book. Eldredge is a a closet open-theist. His understanding of God is all off. I applaud his effort to edify men, but the ends does not justify the means. GOD DOES NOT TAKE RISKS.
