  • Francine "Franci" Duncan: Former lover of Sean's, she was an Air Force flight nurse. She's currently a flight nurse with an air lift unit in Redding and also teaches a course at Humbokdt University. She has a 3 year old daughter named Rosie.
  • Sean Riordan: Luke's younger brother and Francine's former lover. He's also an Air Force U-2 pilot and officer stationed at Beale AFB.
  • Rosie: three year old red-headed little girl, Sean and Franci's daughter
  • Aiden Riordan: Luke's younger brother who is an OB-GYN in the Air Force.
  • Luke Riordan: A 38-year old, retired Army Black Hawk pilot, who warns Shelby he is not a relationship kind of guy, but he found that he couldn't stay away from her. He is re-modeling some cabins he owns on the river. He is married to Shelby.
  • Shelby (McIntyre) Riordan: After the death of her mother she moves in with her uncle Walt in Virgin River where she meets Luke, a retired Black Hawk pilot, who is known to not have serious relationships with women. She falls in love with him and he with her and they are now married.
  • George Davenport: Noah Kincaid's best friend and mentor. He's also a minister.
  • Muriel St. Claire: Famous movie star who is trying to retire to Virgin River. She's dating Walt Booth. She recently completed another film and is busy promoting the film.
  • Harry: Franci's dog, a cocker spaniel
  • Jack Sheridan: Owner of the bar and restaurant in Virgin River where most of the people in the town gather for food and drink. He's married to Mel and the father of David and Emma. Former marine.
  • Cheryl Creighton: Former town drunk who has successfully completed rehab and is sober. She's dating Dan Brady.
  • Ellie Baldwin: Noah Kincaid's pastor's assistant and fiancé. She is the mother of Danielle and Trevor.
  • Nick Fitch: Former town lothario, married to Jo Ellen
  • Jo Ellen Fitch: Married to Nick
  • Paul Haggerty: Building contractor who opened an office of his family's business in Virgin River when he married Vanni. He's a former marine who was also Matt Rutledge's best friend (Vanni's first husband). He's stepfather to baby Matt and is worked on Preacher's home expansion and Brie and Mike's home. He and Vanni are adopting his deceased former girlfriend's baby daughter, Hannah.
  • Vanni Haggerty: Walt's daughter and Paul's wife. She was widowed when her first husband, Matt, died in Iraq while she was pregnant with her son, also named Matt. She's also Shelby's cousin. She's trying to have another baby while at the same time in the process of adopting Hannah, Paul's deceased former girlfriend's daughter.
  • Jake Sorrell: Sean's squadron commander at Beale AFB
  • Paige Middleton: Married to Preacher, she's the mother of Christopher and Dana.
  • Colin Riordan: Luke's younger brother.
  • Dan Brady: Former marijuana grower, he's now reformed after a stint in prison and is working for Paul Haggerty and dating Cheryl Creighton.
  • Paddy Riordan: Luke's youngest brother
  • Walt Booth: Former 3-star Army general who has retired to Virgin River. He's the father of Vanni and Tom, who is off to West Point, and uncle to Shelby. Walt is dating Muriel, famous movie actress who has also retired to Virgin River.
  • Art Cleary: His mother deceased, 29-year-old Art has Down syndrome and, after suffering abuse at his grocery store job in Eureka, leaves the group home where he has been staying and goes to Virgin River. There Luke Riordan takes him under his wing and offers him a job and a place to stay at his little group of cabins.
  • Vivian Duncan: Franci's mother and a physician's assistant.
  • T. J. Brookner: Marine biologist and professor of oceanography at Humboldt University. He's dating Franci.
  • Noah Kincaid: Presbyterian minister who bought the Virgin River church from Hope McRea on eBay. He's restored the church and is holding regular Sunday services. He's engaged to Ellie Baldwin.
  • Maureen Riordan: Mother of the Riordan boys. She's widowed and lives in Phoenix
  • Carl Johnson: Vivian's beau, one of the doctors at the family practice where she works
  • Mel Sheridan: Married to Jack, nurse and midwife, mother to David and Emma. She owns and manages the town's clinic.
