The Misenchanted Sword /A Legend of Ethshar/ A LAND AT WAR / Ethshar and the Northern Empire have been at war for hundreds of years. Hardly anyone alive remembers why, or over what. I was intrigued by the dilemma the main character Valder was in. He received an enchanted sword from a wizard that wasn’t too thrilled with him. The wizard placed a variety of spells upon Valder’s sword with some interesting consequences. The first third of the book tells of how Valder discovers the good and bad properties of his magic sword. The middle was boring. I didn’t really see the point to it. The last third when Valder tries to break the spell between him and the sword is where it gets interesting again.

I absolutely loved reading this book. It had plot twists around every corner with a great story basis of an ordinary soldier made into so much more. It had me laughing non-stop.

i had to force myself to read it once i got halfway througn. There was no plot and no point to this book. Oh joy he got a magic sword in the first part after endless complaining of being stuck. the second part he spent all his time complaining about killing and nothing cool happened and the third part he spent all his time complaining and talking aobut how much he loved his new job where nothing cool happened untill he became imortal and got married to a wizzard out of convinence (how romantic...not) >.<

The best kind of fantasy. Well written, excellent characterization and not the least bit cheesy.
