I highly recommend this to anyone who fancies herself a writer, or is thinking about taking up writing, or just appreciates writers. King's unflinching look at himself and at the process of writing is at once daunting and inspiring. plus, there's a whole chapter on grammar stuff, which is great for grammar geeks, like myself!

A bizarre, fascinating, profane and also utterly romantic memoir of King's life mixed with a few gems of writing advice. It's worth reading just for the few tributes he gives to his wife.

Stephen King invites you into his process of writing. He shares his process. He gives you insight into the business of getting published. He is straight forward, interesting, and refreshing.

If you're a fan of Stephen King, then you should probably read this. He gives a lot of background info on his life and writing. Also, if you think you may want to be writer, then this is a good place to start. He gives some good advice for writers, but don't let it all go to your head.

This is the best writer's manual I have ever read. This is half memoir and half solid writing advice.

Stephen King writes about his process, his life, and the things he's learned. He also gives a very personal account of what he experienced after a near-fatal van vs pedestrian collision. I love this book for the excellent advice, the insight, and the stories.

Although I don't read King because I'm too afraid of his genre, this book is enlightening, funny and very personal. You can't help but admire this man as a writer (and husband.) It's worth the read just to hear about his wonderful wife. However, the real gift is what you learn about yourself as a writer (and in my case, a teacher of writing.)
