Read this book if you love to read or write, or even if you just want a window into the mind of Stephen King. In his memoir, King throws light onto the tools of the trade and the actual act of writing itself.

It’s obvious that the guy not only knows what he is talking about when it comes to writing, but he knows how to say it in a way that anyone can understand. King isn’t trying to be trendy here. He isn’t telling you that he just sat down in a coffee shop one day, decided to become a bestselling author, and wrote The Stand. He is telling you that writing fiction is a job, and if you want to do this job, it’s one that you had better be passionate about. After reading this book you will understand the seriousness that writing fiction demands.

It’s odd, but this was actually the first Stephen King book I have ever read. It won’t be the last, that’s for sure.
