Delightful! I was so shocked. I actually found this book at the Dollar Store! When I got it home, just out of curiosity, I started reading it. It gives fascinating glimpses into King's childhood. Things that life-long fans of the author have always wondered about. His ear-infection, knocking out a power transformer. These are things that made him King. Each event was a blop of clay that formed him into the man he is today - that's what made it fascinating! One of his best works, and I got it for a buck!

Why does King give us information about his life in the first part of the book?

Ive written two non-fiction books and have only last year started a blend of fiction & non-fiction in cartoon books that have creative story lines, and also discuss things like natural health tips, stress reduction, self-worth boosting tools. A cartoon writer suggested this book and Im just getting into the second half, thoroughly enjoyed the autobiography section. It takes a leap of courage to step out from behind non-fiction into pure creativity...and it's a great adventure.

This book reminded me that when I was writing in my childhood I had a different enviroment than I do when I write now. I discovered that may be the reason I have certain difficulties now writing. Need to go back to my roots.

I am not an aspiring writer, though I am an avid reader. Is this worth reading for someone not interested in penning the next Great American Novel?
