There is a small mining town off of Highway 50, the loneliest road in the world, and it's called Desperation. Hidden beneath the shadow of the China Pit, and ancient open-pit mine that holds a devilish secret, is the mad cop Collie Entragian. "There is no God in Desperation." He tells David Carver, a young boy with a mysterious and fearsome power, as he locks him inside a cell to rot with what's left of his family. Soon however, he learns that's not true, and an all-out war begins between the powers of God and the evil spirit that calls itself Tak. Brining you to the land of buzzards and coyotes, snakes, spiders and scorpions, and one lone timberwolf, Stephen King weaves a terrifying battle of good and evil with a climactic ending reminiscent of The Stand, and the most fearsome evil ever created.

Wow, this is most definately one of my favorite Stephen King books. The story line is confusing in some parts, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

It almost feels like a cheesy horror movie, but it ends up being so much more...

This book was extremely complex and confusing. If you have a short attention span this is definitely not a book you should be reading. I thought it had a very poor ending and that it was not something I'd except to be so poorly written by Stephen King.
