“D.B. Reynolds is one of my top five favorite authors and this series is awesome! ”

If you haven't read the first, Raphael, you should, as this story is a continuation of the first and you would do yourself a disservice without reading from the beginning. I think the author did a much better job going into more detail with the relationship between Cyn and Raphael, and showed a softer side of Raphael. I absolutely loved the "declaration" in this book, as I was waiting for it!! I am disappointed that the story seems to end with a hint that the next book will not be a continuation of Cyn and Rapael, rather focusing on another character entirely, who I don't even remember being mentioned. That's dissappointing. Again, great filler series, but don't pass up any new releases from your fave authors for this one. Wait until you need something to read while waiting. ”

I also loved the fact that it was a continuation of the couple from the previous book in this series, Raphael. I was up all night reading this book; kept me totally engaged from start to finish!”

We were left broken hearted at the end of Raphael, wondering if the two lovers would ever reunite. In Jabril, we get to experience the strength of Cyn and the determination of Raphael that sets up some very emotional and sexy scenes between the two. With new characters added to the already compelling cast, Reynolds draws us deeper into the world of the Vampire Lords. Reynolds’ vivid descriptions make it easy to jump into the story and lose track of time making this book impossible to put down! The descriptive natures of Reynolds’ writing made it very easy to hate Jabril from the very first meeting. I cringed at his actions and cheered at his downfall! This story is filled with action, adventure, love, betrayal, and a refreshing reminder that not all vampires are made for happily ever after. Some are the purely evil monsters of legend. I can’t wait to see where D.B. Reynolds takes this series. A must read for all vampire lovers! ”

Action is equally fast-paced, but here we see much more of Cynthia herself and less Raphael, though he's still visible - the plot revolves about Cyn trying to help two teenage girls to run away from Jabril - another master vampire. Still, it's a must-read for vampire lovers and for everyone who's read the first book. ”

While Cynthia and Raphael took a break from each other, Cyn leaves LA for a job in Texas, where danger lurks and the vampire who hired her thinks she's a challenge good enough for him to play with. I liked the ending really much especially how the writer decided not to turn Cynthia into a vampire and had found a great solution for the little problem of her mortality.”
