Characters edit
- Skye Penderwick: Math-whiz Skye, and second oldest of the sisters is headstrong, and has a very fierce temper. She has blue eyes and she always says, "Blue Eyes Blue Skye." She is a smart girl with a temper. Her adrenaline is always going. She loves being with her family and meeting others.
- Rosalind Penderwick: The oldest Penderwick sister, who is practical, responsible and caring.
- Hound: The Penderwicks lovable dog, who is closest to 4-year-old Batty.
- Batty Penderwick: Four year old youngest Penderwick sister, she is shy around strangers. Likes to wear butterfly wings all the time. She is always trying to help, usually unsuccessfully.
- Jane Penderwick: Third born sister, who is imaginative, loves to write stories, not very practical, and an awesome soccer player, though being Mick Hart sometimes ruins it.
- Mr. Penderwick: The Penderwick girls' father.
- Mrs. Tifton: Jeffrey's mother. Snooty, and most certainly does not like the Penderwicks!
- Cagney: Friendly, college-age, handsome gardener at Arundel. Rosalind has a crush on him.
- Dexter Dupree: Snooty man who dislikes the Penderwick's as much as Mrs. Tifton.
- Dexter: Mrs. Tifton's boyfriend likes to golf, and Jeffrey can't stand him. IN fact, he wants to ship Jeffrey off to military school.
- Churchie: The cook for Jeffrey and his mom, loves the Penderwicks and makes the best gingerbread ever!
- Yaz: Cagney's pet rabbit. He gets away because of Batty being irresponsible!
- Carla: Cagney's pet rabbit. Shy, unlike his other rabbit, Yaz.
- Sabrina Starr: The star of Jane's books, an adventurous sort who saves things.
- Anna: Rosalind's best friend from Cameron. She talks about her often.
- Harry: Gives the Penderwicks directions and eats Churchie's gingerbread. He gives them tomatoes.
- Hound: the Penderwick's dog, loves to play with Batty, and hates being cooped up.
