This is the story of the Penderwick sisters. Their names are Rosalind, Skye, Jane, and little shy Batty. (And of course their beloved dog, Hound!) The girls have lost their mother to cancer at the birth of their youngest sister batty, and this summer they are vacationing with their father a place called Arundel. The sisters soon run into trouble with the owner of the place, Mrs. Tifton, and her boyfriend the evil Dexter. They will also make new friends, and memories they will never forget! Recommended for ages 9+
