- Nicholas "Nick" Ambrosius Gautier: Son of a career felon and a stripper. His life revolves around streets and backalleys. He attends a snobby rich school where he received a scholarship.
- Cherise Nicole Gautier: Nick's mom. She is a stripper at a club. Nick is her whole life and loves him very much.
- Ambrose: Nick's Uncle.
- Kyrian Hunter: Also known as Kyrian of Thrace. Dark Hunter that hires Nick to work for him.
- Nekoda "Kody" Belam: Nick's crush and a classmate. She is a new student at his school.
- Menyara Chartier: Voodoo priestess and midwife. Also, Nick's godmother and his mother's best friend.
- Simi: Charonte demon.
- Acheron Parthenopaeus: Leader of the Dark Hunters.
- Bubba Burdette: Friend of Nick's and his mother. Owns the shop Nick sometimes helps out in. Loves to watch Oprah. He believes in the supernatural. Owns a gun/weapons shop.
- Mark Fingerman: Friend of Nick's and his mothers. Helps Bubba in his shop. Bubba's right hand man, Mark lives a life of extreme danger (he's the one they send in to interrupt Oprah when Bubba's watching it). Highly intelligent, he is a jack of all trades. But there really isn't anyone else you'd rather have on your side in a fight.
- Madaug St. James: Goes to school with Nick. Younger brother of Tabitha's boyfriend, Eric, Madaug is a god on the computer. Funny and bright, he's the one who creates the game Zombie Hunter.
- Eric St. James: Madaug's older brother and Tabitha's boyfriend. Eric is a determined Squire who takes no crap and refuses to compromise.
- Ian St. James: Madaug's younger brother
- Tabitha Devereaux: The twin sister of Amanda, Tabby is something else. The only question is what? She walks to her own beat and takes nothing from anyone. She is the baddest thing that stalks the night.
- Caleb Malphas: Befriends Nick, so that he can look out for him.
- Stone Blakemore: A bully that goes to the same school as Nick.
- Alex Peltier: Goes to the same school as Nick.
- Liza Dunnigan: A doll-maker that owns a shop where Nick works part time.
- Brynna Adams: Nick's classmate.
- Rosa: Kyrian's housekeeper. She is good with knives.
- Artemis: Greek goddess of the Hunt. She created the Dark Hunters.
- Tadd Addams: Eighth generation Squire and am one of Brynna’s older brothers.
- Casey Woods: The head cheerleader and a friend of Bryanna Addams.

“Well, when you chased me through Kyrian's house, I did wet my pants a bit. Guess, I'm not housebroken afterall. My mom will be so disappointed after all she went through to potty train me. But once you let me live ... your big mistake ... now I know you think I'm too cute and fluffy to kill.”
Nick to Ash -
“You two are 'special' friends.”
Nick about Kyrian and Ash -
“No. No. No. Definitely not. Not that Acheron is not an attractive man, not that I've really noticed whether or not he's attractive, but male is not my type.”
Kyrian took a step away from Acheron -
“I don't drown myself in Eau de Duck Urine or look for werewolves in the swamp, unlike some people you know.”
Ash to Nick about Mark and Bubba -
“Why you wearing those sunglasses inside when it's dark, Geek boy?”
Nick to Ash -
“'Cause no matter where I go, the sun is always shining on me.”
Ash let fly a cocky grin -
“Oh the horror. Guess I'll have to trade the piece of junk in and get a new one if that happens. By the way, don't breathe on the upholstery or I may have to gut you.”
Ash to Nick when Nick said that he couldn't possibly touch Ash's Porsche 911 Turbo lest he leaves a fingerprint behind -
“How can this be your car?”
Nick to Ash -
“Well, I wrote a really big check that didn't bounce to the dealer and then the most amazing thing happened... The salesman gave me the keys and let me take it home. It was like magic”
Ash to Nick -
“Only I'm allowed to be that sarcastic.”
Nick gave Ash a peeved glare -
“Sheez. My mom's a vegan. She grounded me for six months last summer when I ate a cheeseburger at McDonald's. Can you imagine how long she'd ground me for eating a person?”
Jason -
“I definitely want to be her chew toy.”
Jason -
“No offense, but I know what they do to good-looking guys in prison and I'm way too cute to be resisted.”
Eric -
“Karatei!”
Nick -
““That which doesn’t kill us just requires a few centuries of therapy” “Yeah, and usually alot of tylenol””
Caleb and Nick -
“I also eat babies for breakfast and torure animals for fun. My therapist says that I'm making real progress though."”
Caleb to Nick's mom -
“"If it is our destiny to be hit by the train, we will be hit by the train. The only thing we can change is how the train turns us into a hamburger."”
