Now that I know who did what, how, when and why...I can reread it to put it all together from the beginning. I wonder if Lucas Davenport is as sexy as he sounds.”

This book takes Davenport to NY to assist one of his old flames on the Bekker case in addition to investigating th "Robin Hood" killers. This book was pretty good. The mystery aspect kept me guessing. I enjoy reading about Davenport but his many women conquests drive me nuts.”

To call Bekker a psychopath seems like such an understatement! He is a fascinating character though, in all his drug-popping, eye-slashing lunacy. ”

His main character is a person that just about every upstanding citizen can like...man or woman. A man's man and a woman's man. James Garner could have played this part well, in his younger days. There are violent crimes, but the degree of explicity is contained, and I appreciate that. The fun is in figuring out if he will catch them or not...he doesn't always.”

I loved it! Lucas was as he always is. I really like his character - I don't think I've read another like him. He takes things as they come, and I love how he processes information.
I felt bad for Lily. When you read it, you'll understand why. She's her usual self, but with what happens in the novel, it just wasn't fair for Lily.
I was completely flabbergasted by the events in the novel. Sure, they figure out and catch Bekker - that was a given. But with what else was going on in the novel, I'd never have guessed - not in a million years, and the 'evidence' was staring me right in the face. It was awesome how Lucas figured it out, how he came around to it, and the people involved, I never guessed that either.
I definitely recommend this series for anyone who likes detective novels.”
