The more Mercedes Lackey I read, the more I see her talent grow. I love how she takes old fairy tales and re-works them into her Elemental Masters series books. She writes so well that it's easy to forget that you know the basic plot and the inevitable ending already.

This book is definitely my favorite of her Elemental Masters series so far. (Spoiler Alert) I didn't even realize the book was based on the "Puss in Boots" tale until the very end when Thomas started exhorting the...
