What can you say about the Lord of the Rings. I've read the books around a dozen times, starting in the 70's and have watched the movies at least 5 times. It just gets better and better. One of the best books of the twentieth century.

As a female I just wish there were more female characters in LOTR. Does anyone feel the same way? I suppose it is of it's time, and it after all it is basically about WAR but still it just seems women are invisible in this novel, apart from Galadriel and that Elf..can't remember her name.. would we have ruined the fantasy?
