I thought it was impossible but I was wrong. Christine Feehan actually made me love one of her Dark books! This is so far, the best novel in the series by a mile. Darius is the most compelling, most riveting hero and I think I am in love. Eventhough there are similar elements here from past...

I loved this book. I feel in love with Darius's character from the very beginning and it only grew. This was the first book of hers I read and every book since has been addicting. A must read if you haven't already.

    3.5 stars.

I have a love/hate relationship with this series!

Love: strong, alpha males with amazing powers destined to love only one woman and love her well.

Hate: the way they force themselves upon the females ~ almost leaving them no choice until they succumb to their demands! It's suffocating!!

I really liked the feistiness of Tempest and how she gave it to Darius at every turn. The one thing that didn't ring true was how Darius would call her honey and baby....it just sounded wrong!

These books are like a car wreck and I just can't drive right on by. I have to stop and check things out so I guess I should just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Another captivating vampire romance story from Ms. Feehan that adds to my ongoing collection of her books. The story centers on Darius, the brother of Gregori (Dark Magic) and Desari (Dark Challenge).

Within the first 20 pages, I was hooked. Darius meets his newly hired mechanic, Rusti Trine, upon rising after the Dark Troubadours show. Darius is stunned at the colors he sees the emotions he feels, and realizes he is staring at his lifemate. Rusti, also known as Tempest, is a small but feisty red-haired woman who is their auto mechanic. The pursuit begins as Darius proceeds to make Tempest his lifemate.

Tempest is a fiery woman with telepathic skills she communicates with animals and is the only human alive who is readily accepted by the Troubadours 2 leopards. Darius falls in love with her, almost at first sight and the story begins.

I read the book within 24 hours. I want more of the DARK series from Ms. Feehan. It is a wonderful tale and this edition continues to be a sexy, erotic, and thrilling story of the Carpathian race.

    It is worth keeping.

So Darius warned her when she accepted a position with his traveling troupe. And gazing mesmerized at the merciless slash of his mouth, the implacable resolve on his face, the soulless emptiness of his black eyes, Tempest was afraid to ask what it was. She had always been different, apart from others. From the moment his arms closed around her, enveloping her in a sorcerer's spell, Darius seemed to understand her unique gifts. But did his kiss offer the love and belonging she sought, or a danger more potent than his own panthers? Somewhere deep inside herself, Tempest realized she knew the answer. She had no choice but to accept the velvet stroke of his tongue, submit to the white-hot heat piercing her skin, welcome an erotic pleasure like no other….

I love all of the books in this series, but Dark Fire, has them all beat! The passion, the love, the humor the banter between Darius and Tempest, is too much! Scorching hot!!! Loved it!

I still enjoy this story very much, whenever I read it. Rusty is a funny character that has a penchant to get lost and in trouble. I am glad that she found a very strong, powerful and caring Carpathian in Darius, even though he doesn't know what to do and how to set her in her place. Rusti is fierce, loves to tinker with machines and can talk to animals. Darius on the other hand is dark, a predator and thinks woman have to listen to everything he tells them. Well, he's about to find out that life just isn't as he wishes it!

I have a real weakness for the Daratraznoff family. I love all their books and the men in this family are to die for. First Gregori and now Darius. It is enough to make a girl swoon. Darius has been on his own for so long. He saved himself, his baby sister and four other young children when their parents were killed by the invading Turks. I love Darius courage and honor and his fear for his small family. Tempest "Rusti" is such a hoot throughout this books. She gives Darius no end of fits but she is very accepting of his and his family's difference. Tempest is her own worse enemy. I don't think that she can avoid trouble to save her life and in several cases almost dies from her bad luck. I loved this whole story because you see Syndil come out of her shell after being attacked by one of the men in the family when he turns vampire. You also see Barrack claim Syndil as his lifemate. The relationship isn't resolved in this book but you see the beginnings of it. I am now hooked and may end up reading the entire series again.

Not much of a difference from the other books. However I still enjoyed it. Slowly you can see links in the books, and you learn a little from each one. Barack so deserves his own book XD
