Quotes edit see section history

  • “It was amazing to feel. To be able to feel. Without his mate, a Carpathian male lost all wants, needs, emotions after two hundred years.”
    Aidan
  • “She was a bright light to cast out the growing darkness within him. Alexandria was compassion and goodness, everything he was not.”
    Aidan
  • “Yeah, she lets me have just about anything I want, and she never gets mad when I don't do what I'm supposed to do. Sometimes she tries to yell at me, but she always ends up hugging me instead.”
    Joshua
  • “Now, though, he had more than mere loyalty, fine as that was. He had emotions choking him, tearing at him, warming him. He loved it, even as he found it somewhat overwhelming.”
    Aidan
  • “I have asked you to call me Aidan. It is necessary, even when we are alone, that we continue to behave in the human manner and keep up the pretense that we are close friends until it becomes so.”
    Aidan
  • “I'm all right now. Really. And I'm going to pretend you're a nice man, not some snarling beast about to eat me if I don't do everything you say.”
    Alexandria
  • “'Actually, that's another one of my habits that will no doubt annoy you—I have many, you know.' 'So, just how many annoying habits do you have?'”
    Alexandria~Aidan
  • “How very melodramatic. Secret passageways and everything. You should write a book, Aidan. Or perhaps a video game.”
    Alexandria
  • “Don't brag about it, Mr. Savage. What a great name for you, by the way. Savage. It suits you.”
    Alexandria
  • “And you said you had no imagination. I can't wait to hear what you come up with.”
    Alexandria
  • “Sometimes adults can't live together. I'm used to doing things my way, and Aidan is set in his medieval ways.”
    Alexandria
  • “You chose life for me, Alexandria. And I cannot live without you. Our lives are bound together now.One cannot survive without the other.”
    Aidan
  • “Get away from me. I have the right to do whatever I want with my life. It's called free will, although I'm sure the concept's beyond your understanding.”
    Alexandria
  • “I am part wild animal, a hunter, a very efficient killing machine, I believe were your thoughts. And that is true of me at times. But that is not the case with you. A male Carpathian is responsible for the protection, the health, and the happiness of his lifemate. I am the darkness to your light. You have compassion and goodness in you. You are Carpathian now, but as with all Carpathian women, your true nature is one of gentleness.”
    Aidan
  • “I have already taken over your life, as you have taken over mine. It is done.”
    Aidan
  • “I hate that condescending I'm-so-calm-and-you're-so-out-of-control voice you use. Don't you ever get mad?”
    Alexandria
  • “She had given him a heart, so he was now capable of knowing love and laughter and appreciating the miracles he had been favored with.”
    Aidan
  • “Idiot? In all the centuries of my existence, no one has ever called mean idiot.”
    Aidan
  • “'Couldn't you have thrown the damn things out? And just for the record, you traitor, Ivan is not her man. I am.' Not yet, you're not. I believe you still have to court her. And of course I would never throw roses out, Aidan. When a man goes to the trouble of giving a woman flowers, she should at least have the pleasure of seeing them.'”
    Aidan~Marie
  • “"I just saved your life. What are roses compared to that?”
    Aidan
  • “Mind your own business. I'm deliberately flirting a little. You have heard of the concept, haven't you?In fact, I think you wrote the book on it.”
    Alexandria
  • “I know you did that, you Neanderthal! Don't for one minute try your innocent act, because it won't work.”
    Alexandria
  • “One of my more annoying yet endearing qualities.”
    Aidan
  • “Don't you dare, you escapee from an insane asylum.”
    Alexandria
  • “Only her head, so stubborn, prevented him from claiming his rights as her lifemate.”
    Aidan
  • “She did like it. You must kiss pretty good, Aidan. She never lets anyone kiss her 'cept me. Nobody else better kiss you either, 'cept Aidan and me.”
    Joshua
  • “‘I don't think I like you very much, Aidan. You always seem to get your way.’ ‘Get used to it, piccola. Everyone obeys me.’”
    Alexandria – Aidan
  • “Aidan Savage was planning something. She didn't know what, but she was certain of it.”
    Alexandria
  • “Without you, my existence is no more. We are linked, in life and death. If you choose death, you are choosing death for both of us.”
    Aidan
  • “Dio, Alexandria. You persist in thinking me a monster. Take great care, piccola, that you do not create one.”
    Aidan
  • “You're the one with all the fantasies. I'm just borrowing yours to try them out.”
    Alexandria
  • “'You're forgetting my annoying little habits, and I think they've just begun to multiply.' 'You are really going to try to reform me?'”
    Alexandria – Aidan
  • “'I can only hope I have the chance to see you, Gregori, under the spell of your woman. You must promise that you will bring her to meet us one day.' 'Not if I end up like you or Mikhail. I will not have my dangerous reputation destroyed in such away.'”
    Aidan – Gregori
  • “'You have heard the word compromise before, haven't you? You do comprehend its meaning?' 'As I understand it, compromise means you do what I say as soon as I command it. Is that about right?'”
    Alexandria – Aidan
  • “You're in love, my old friend, and that is the downfall of all good men.”
    Stefan
  • “You're in the modern world now, Aidan. Women rule their own lives. They make their own decisions and generally drive us all crazy. Welcome to the twenty-first century.”
    Stefan
  • “'It isn't as if you're leaving me a lot of choice, Aidan. Go then. But nothing had better happen to you, or you'll see what a human woman can do when she's good and mad.' 'Former human woman.'”
