Almost all of the story takes place in 1906. Clive Cussler's style is somewhat different from what you would expect to see in a novel at this time. I have never before read a book by this author, so I don't know if he always writes in this style, or if he is doing it deliberately to make it sound more like 1906. I enjoyed the book, although it was predictable and I think I will try some of his other books to determine if he uses the same style of writing.”
