“My overall opinion about this book is that it is mind grabbing and very interesting. The beginning starts out kind of slow but when it picks up it starts to get more interesting. It's about a girl who gets recommended by her teacher to work at the New York Circulating Material Repository and finds out that the objects they handle with is magical. With her new friends she sets out on a dangerous but exhilarating adventure to find her missing friend who's been turned into a doll with other historic royal princesses.I recommend this book to anyone above 10 because it is kid, teen and even adult friendly”Evia Vicente wrote this review Saturday, November 2, 2013. “The book was complicated in many situations. The characters all showed different story lines. The main character was Elizabeth, Elizabeth is a page who worked in the repository. The story takes an epic turn because at the basement of the repository lays the Grimm Collection. The Grimm collection has objects that are from the Grimm Brothers fairy tale's. At first when Elizabeth got the job, they didn't tell her much about the grimm collection. The first thing that Elizabeth saw when she was down there was the Magic Mirror and she used it to look at her old friend and see how she was doing. I wouldn't recommend the book unless your a big fan of Magic and Fairy tales. ”Marco Gallegos wrote this review 8 days ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“The Grimm Legacy is a story, with the main character being a girl named Elizabeth Rew. Elizabeth leads a normal life, with a father, a stepmother and two stepsisters. She doesn't have any friends at her new school, but she's getting good grades. That is, her life WAS normal, until she started to work at the repository. The repository is like a library, but instead of books, extra ordinary people can check out magic objects! There's a certain room called the Grimm Collection, in which the Grimm brothers put all their story-tale stuff in. Take the flying carpet- it's real! And Cinderella's glass slipper, too! Elizabeth Rew is now working with handsome Marc, perfect Anjali, and brooding Aaron. But when they realize that someone has started to steal objects from the Grimm collection, they take action, taking guard the objects and trying to track down who is stealing the objects. There are plenty of problems- the thief, Marc and Aaron's rivalry, Aaron's future firstborn child, Elizabeth's sense of direction- such a cool book, that leads you in all directions!”Darin wrote this review Tuesday, August 27, 2013. “I really loved this novel's setting (a beautiful and mysterious library!), attention to detail, love of fairy tales, and overall sense of magic. It was such an interesting, unique concept and a joy to read. It made me nostalgic for my own days of working in a library, but I also was entranced by the mysteries surrounding the world Shulman created.
I had issues with only two parts of the book: the ending, which felt rushed, a bit confused, and convenient in places, and the voice of the novel. Elizabeth's narrative was very enjoyable--interesting, thoughtful, mature, but also parts of it did not sound like it was coming from a 14-year-old. The narrative may have made more sense as a retrospective one, but it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the novel enough to warrant much more criticism.”
“Elizabeth, along with Aaron, Marc, and Anjali work together to solve a mystery at the New York Circulating Material Repository.
A fun read about magic and friendship, with a dash of Grimm. ”
“3.5* I liked the whimsy and the allusions to fairy tales, but the ending felt rushed and I'm still not clear on how everything happened.”Megan S wrote this review Thursday, June 27, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Elizabeth has been recommended by her history teacher for a job as a page at the New York Circulating Material Repository. She quickly discovers that the objects they "circulate" are not at all what she expected. When magical objects from the Grimm Collection are being stolen, Elizabeth and the other pages must risk everything to discover who is taking the objects and get them back. A cute book both boys and girls will enjoy.”Iceangel9 wrote this review Thursday, June 27, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“If you enjoy reading about fairy tales, then you will like The Grimm Legacy. Elizabeth works in a library that has a very special collection. The Grimm collection contains items with magical properties, and library pages are able to check those items out. Find out what happens when someone starts replacing the real items with fakes.”Ms. Zabonick wrote this review Tuesday, June 11, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“In this book a girl is hired to work in a Repository and finds that there are magical items hidden in a secret part of the Repository. And not just any magical items. Items from Fairy Tales such as Cinderella, the 12 Dancing Princesses, and Snow White. And someone is stealing the items and they have to catch the thief and stop him.”Stephen Rumble wrote this review Tuesday, June 11, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
