“I, much like the book’s heroine, love fairy tales. I currently work in a library and think it would be a dream come true to be at this lending object library. I would love to venture down to the basement and explore the Grimm Collection. The book’s heroine, Elizabeth has a new job at this unusual library. When the magical objects from the Grimm Fairy Tales start to disappear and fakes are being left in their place, Elizabeth and the other pages must embark on a dangerous quest, much like in a fairy tale, to discover the thief. Readers will love to be transported on this magical journey.”Riana wrote this review Sunday, March 31, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Elizabith just got a new job as a page and she just loves it. There has been creepy things going on there thought. Like people keep disapearing from this gigantic bird. So Elizibith finds out that she is really intrested in the grim collection but no one will let her see it untill she shows responsibillity. Does the Grim collection have anythimg to do with the dissapearence of the pages? Will she figure out the mystery? Read the book to find out. I reccomend this book to 9 years of age and up. I liked this book because the author really described what happened to the characters and hoe it happened it was like I was actually in the book. I also didn't like this book because I am not such a big fan of mysteries.”Talya P wrote this review Thursday, March 21, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Someone's stealing the magic! Elizabeth Rew gets a new job at a Repository, where objects are lent out to people. Some of these items are magic! Someone is trying to steal these magical items! To make matters worse there's a giant bird flying around threatening to attack at any moment! Elizabeth and a few of the other pages, Marc, Anjali, and Aaron are trying to figure out who the thief is.
The genres of this book are fantasy and mystery. What makes a book a mystery book is that it is based off of one big problem that needs to be solved. I liked this book, because the suspense was unending throughout the book. I loved that nothing was quite predictable. I also liked how every character had their own unique personality. I would recommend this book to fourth grade and up. ”
“I checked this book out from the library as a "Blind Date" for Valentine's Day. It was wrapped in red paper covered in hearts and arrows. I had no idea what the book would be. I have to say it was great fun!
This modern fantasy is peopled with characters who are delightfully bizarre and yet believably true to life. It has intrigue, adventure, and romance, with the magical aspects both clever and intricately woven. There are rhyming charms, flying-carpet rides anfd extremely furry dogs with wings. This story is fast-paced, filled with humor, and woven around and through all the magic and fantasy is actually a pretty decent mystery. Who is stealing items from the Grimm collection? Until the thief is caught, everyone is a suspect.
A richly imagined adventure with easy appeal. I would definitely recommend this book to any one who loves adventure and a touch of magic!!
“This book is for people who like to read fantasy, and suspense. It is a little bit hard to understand if you didn't read a lot of Grimm Fairy Tales. ”Kathryn G wrote this review Tuesday, February 26, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
