  • Tormod MacLeod: Chief of MacLeod
  • Christina Fraser: Andrew Fraser's daughter.
  • Beatrix: Daughter of Andrew Fraser and sister to Christina.
  • Andrew Fraser: Once knight turned hateful Scottish Patriot. Andrew Fraser spent three years imprisoned by King Edward. He is the father of Christina, Beatrix, Alexander and Simon Fraser.
  • John Macdougall: A descendant of Sumerland. Also known as John of Lorne or Lame John due to a bad leg. He is in constant struggle for Lordship over the isles and a supporter of King Edward. His clan is always on the side opposing Agnus Og MacDonald and is friends with the Nicholson clan. John MacDougall gives MacLeod a lot of trouble.
  • Lamberton: Bishop & Friend of Robert the Bruce
  • Robert the Bruce: on a quest to free Scotland from English rule
  • King Edward: aka Long Shanks. King of England and Scotland (self proclaimed), Lord of Ireland, Prince of Wales.

  • Rhuairi: Tor's seneschal.
  • Lady Janet: Tor's leiman.
  • Nicolson: Rival clan of the MacLeods.
  • Erik MacSorley: MacDonald's henchamn. He is known for his contant teasing even during battle.
  • William Wallace: Scotland's most well known Patriot for Independence. Same Wallace as referred to in the movie Brave Heart played by Mel Gibson.
  • Murdoch: Tor's son by his first marriage.
  • Alex Seton: A Knight whose allegiance is tied to Robert Bruce. His tabard has a Wyvern.
  • Lachlan Macruairi: Another descendant of Sumberland like MacDougall and MacDonald. Tor often refers to MacRuairi as a viper.
  • Comyn: The Red Comyn is Bruce's biggest competition for the throne of Scotland. He, like Bruce, has valid claims to the throne.
  • Mhairi: Christina's maid.
