But I can't. maybe it's the combination of eroticism, nostalgia, spirituality, and honesty. I don't know. Leonard Cohen seems like a very interesting person.”

“I simply love Leonard Cohen. He's songs are so profound and romantic. I also like he's poetry... I must say... is not something usual. I enjoy reading it, and i must say... i like he's humor.”

Some beautiful poetry here, some 'so-so' pedestrian stuff as well. That's really no crime.

I know LC is seen as serious and heavy but there are some sweet, whimsical, wry works on display here, as well as the hard-core emotional territory unflinchingly engaged. Perhaps it could be claimed ol' Lenny is even preparing the ground for our own aging by laughing at himself on occasions. It's really a charming collection and most welcome on my shelf.”
“Cohen is my favorite songwriter, and many can reduce me to tears whether sung by him or others. Try "Hallelujah" or "Anthem". Too bad reading his peotry just isn't the same.”
