I think that this book has a lot of emotion and drama and it makes you want to cry and just keep reading.
A sympathetic and insightful portrayal of the many faces and stages of grief. Nelson makes her quirky characters unlikely scenarios not only plausible but believable.

  • Lennie Walker: Main Character. Full name is Lennon (as in John Lennon) Walker. Lennie for short. Clarinet player in band. Younger sister to Bailey Walker.
  • Joe Fontaine: New boy in school and classmate of Lennie. Musical prodigy. Moved to town recently from Paris.
  • Toby Shaw: Boyfriend of Bailey. Cowboy/Skate-Junkie.
  • Gram: Maternal Grandmother of Bailey & Lennie. Has an incredible green thumb and love for all shades of the color green. Also a painter and slightly eccentric.
  • Big: Uncle to Bailey & Lennie. Brother to Paige Walker (Bailey & Lennie's Mother). Known as the town Lothario. Has a crazy push broom mustache.
