Decision Time by Earl Sewell follows the last book, where after getting Jordan’s car back, Mike and Keysha are grounded. Unfortunately Wesley has been shoot. After all that Wesley’s done for Keysha, and the urgency of teenage love Keysha sneaks out to be with Wesley. Encouraged by her new friend Maya, Keysha buys a ticket and plans to take a bus to visit Wesley in the hospital. She’s caught by Jordan, fights him *physically*, and goes off any way.

Wesley’s memories are vague at first of why he’s in the hospital, but then he starts to remember. His grandmother had introduced him to a girl named Lori. While in the middle of a heated argument with her thuggish boyfriend, he puts his hands on her, and Wesley steps in. Wesley seems to have a rescue complex. Lori visits Wesley in the hospital, and confesses that she purposely told her boyfriend that she and he were seeing (screwing) each other. Wesley is mad, but not mad enough to turn her away when she starts to kiss him in the hospital room. You guessed it in walks kisses, and see’s Lori all over Wesley. They almost get to fighting.

The staff puts them out, and Keysha runs to the chapel. After discovering she has no money and no way home, she calls Maya. But eventually her Grandmother comes to pick her up. Her Grandmother talks to her about how well she can sing, which gets Keysha to thinking. She then has to face Mike and Barbara, who want her to have pychiac counseling. Yeah it was a little crazy of her to try to fight her dad. They ground her, but decide to let her try out for a play, which she will be working on with Maya, and the hottest guy in her class. She’s done with Wesley.

Wesley tries to get Lori to go to the police, so her boyfriend will be locked up. She does agree, but gets scared when her house is broke into. Wesley’s father’s car is also vandalized. They decide to come home. Wesley is also getting threatned at school by thug boyfriend’s cousin. When he gets home he tries to smooth things over with Keysha, but she’s short with him. She and Antonia are into each other now. Wow she got over him quick. So he comes close at school, but Lori shows up. What the….Wesley is in the dog house again. He starts to develop bad habits again after he is dissed continuously by Keysha (drinking).

Keysha performs well in the play, but her new boyfriend and Wesley almost get into a confrontation. Keysha goes to the prom with Antonio, but gets into it with Wesley again whose decided to take Lori. At the end of the book Wesley and Lori head for the hotel.

Keysha’s Drama, I rate about a seven and a half (a strong B). Some things I felt about this book were a) Jordan and Barbara had the right to be concerned *and so should Keysha* if she can just flip out that easily and start giving physical assalts. Which shows that she might be a little more like her mom than she’d care to admit. b) Lesson learned that some times the guy you claim you love and care (so) much about isn’t worth it. Now in Wesley’s defense I really don’t think Keysha gave him the chance to explain, and listened to her girl too much. I know first hand, how a guy can get in a situation he regrets. It doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s ready to leave the one he’s with for his short time hormonal fling on the side. Keysha might have called herself *getting even* but in the end she did more harm than she realized. Ok wouldn’t the thing to do have been to defend her relationship *against * Lori. Obviously Keysha didn’t care about Wesley as much as she thought she did because a) she seemed all to quick to dismiss him b) she moved on WAY to quickly c) she didn’t even try to fight for her man against Lori.
I really couldn’t stand Lori. I HATE homewreckers, and she was a full blown whore. I really wanna see her get used as this series continues. The book was good though. It lived up to it’s name easily.
