“Four stories of interesting relationships. THAT OTHER KATHERINE: Katherine is in an automobile accident. She is in the hospital in a coma and dying. She sees a bridge to cross..in doing so she asks to be allowed to live having missed true love, babies etc. She suddently wkes up having a baby..1895, and a husband who thinks she betrayed him. She has not memory of any of it.
STORE-BOUGHT WOMAN: 1872, Bess Campbell awakens to find the brother of the man who had paid to wed her. Will has come to take his brother's place (Brother ran off to the gold fields in Alaska). Bess has little choice but to go with hme but still refuses to agree to marry him. THE SCENT OF SNOW: 1892, Rebecca has brought her tow sisters to a house that she believes belongs to a dead man. She has a poor but steady living arrangement to keep them safe. Lo and behold the owner shows up. He lets her stay..etc. IN ALL SEASONS, 1508, Melissande Bradgate is in a nunnery but the Abbess does not think she is nun material. Her childhood lover shows up near death at the back gate. She is assigned to get him well. In spite of many misconceptions the love of old survives.”
