“Alaric's life has unraveled in the two years since he lost his mother in a terrible train crash. He and his father are barely speaking, and their home, Withern Rise, is in shambles. A Girl Naia tries not to dwell on the accident that nearly killed her mother two years ago, now that life with her parents at Withern Rise has returned to normal. One and the Same Alaric and Naia do not know each other, or that they are living nearly identical lives. But when they meet, their resemblance to each other is unmistakable. As their lives entwine, they uncover a truth that has the power to rearrange, or even erase, their very existence.

It was fun to read because it was not exactly a normal experience the characters were having. I felt intrigued by the unfamiliar lives the characters lived, and it was cool to live their lives as I read this book.”

Book review
a crack in the line is a very detailed story written by Michael Lawrence. He has made this book interesting in many ways including excitement for most middle school students. At sixteen Alaric and Naia are as alike as any too people from different genders why? Simply because their the same person in different realities.
The withern rise in England is an old summer home, it is the home of Alaric Underwood he is 13 and he is very much like a teenager. His mom perished in a train accident when he was younger. Her work of art the lexie folly is a transport to another reality. In which Naia lives or himself in another reality. One day they decide to meet with photo albums and other memory things in their hurry to leave they grab each others stuff so they switch realities.
The book really is confusing because the book switches realities so much. I would recommend this book to any people that can follow a confusing book. Over all I give this book a 3out of five.

In Alaric's reality, his mother died after a train crash two years ago. However, in Nia's, she survived the train crash and still lives on. On the 2nd aniversary of the accident, Alaric touches The Folly (a model his mother made before she died) and is transported into Nia's reality. The two of them, meet and discuss, resulting in the discovery that both Alaric and Nia have the Folly. Regularly they transport themselves from one reality to another. When they believe they have made a breakthrough in solving the past, ALAS! Misktakingly, the both touch the Folly at once, and when they arrive, the Folly BREAKS!
I believe that Michael Lawrence's trilogy would form a marvelous film and would inspire many young youths on the 21st century. Full of mystery and disbelief the novel opens many areas for imagination and as the trilogy progresses, so does the unbelievableness of this amazing tale. I really loved this book because it showed reality between two people. It made a great book and was a huge page turner. I would want to spend a day with both of them to actually decide for myself if they are that similar as the book claims them to be. ”
“This book can sometimes be hard to read but it's worth it if you stick with it. This provokes thoughts, about what if situations, and makes you realize that every moment is precious. You've got to read this.”
