The stories wove together seamlessly, the battles were fierce and I was torn so deeply between Faraday and Azhure that I didn't know what to expect.
Faraday's character is still a bit too weak, and Azhure is everything I could hope for in a fantasy female lead character. The author does a great job of giving the races their own particular weaknesses, which makes them even more likeable to me. And the pirates.. well, you'll have to read and see.
A very epic, amazing story. Looking forward to the next.”
“The thing about these books is, you get into them because you expect the resolution to be coming ANY MOMENT. And it doesn't. Good book, great characters.”

As mentioned in my first review, I enjoy the writing immensely and love some of the characters... but I hate the main character after reading the whole trilogy, which is why it is no longer a favorite and does not get 5 stars. The ending ruins the beginning books for me.”

She made him head over heals for the female lead and then he starts to stray and I could just tell where he was headed. It just didn't make sense to me that he would change so abruptly. It didn't make sense to me. I have no problem with characters switching love interests in books, its dramatic. But it has to make sense, there are usually a series of experiences and events and a gradual transition that is explainable, and this one didn't. I got so fed up I quit reading half way through and I never do that. Even if I don't like a book I usually force myself to finish it just so I know what happens but I just couldn't. I got too angry with it. Maybe someday I'll finish it but right now it's doubtful. I don't recommend this series.”

While the characters actions were often rather frustrating and sometimes they were a little TOO perfect, I really couldn't put this series down. These 3 books of the series (I didn't read the last 3 because I heard they were not as good) I would definately recommend to someone interested in reading Sara Douglass. This series is much better than the Troy Game series.”
