“Come Hell Or High Water by Michele Bardsley, sixth book in the Broken Heart Vampires series.
Phoebe is at the centre of this latest humorous instalment, though you do get the familiar characters from the previous books in the background, so you get to keep track of them too. Phoebe has a son, Danny who is four years old. Danny is away at Disney World with his human father. Its a good job he is too, because Phoebe is in the middle of a large paranormal drama at Broken Heart, Oklahoma. she is busy helping to retrieve a piece of talisman for Connor. Connor needs the talisman piece to help ward off his awful stepmother Lilith. Lilith is of course non-human, she is in fact a demon. Phoebe is adamant that she will not fall for Connor and his charm, but of course, she does just that.
Think the cover's for the books are brilliant and of course give you the idea that these are not serious books. The books are a light hearted look at the residents of Broken heart, Oklahoma, and the residents just....well....just happen to be undead!”

“This book was alright. It wasn't a strong book in the series but enjoyable to read I rated low because it was hard to follow at points and I got lost with some of the characters more than once.. I found myself thinking wait who?? Which is never a good thing.”c D wrote this review Sunday, February 6, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This is book 6 in the Broken Heart series.
Phoebe Allen is one of the new turnblood vampires, and is from the Durgha line, which means she has the ability to fight demons and send them back to Hell. She's been lonely, and the chance to have some alone time with the sexy Scott Connor, turns her life upside down after she sleeps with him! Along with the 100 year old vamp marriage, she finds he's 1/2 demon with the top demon Lilith after him for some talisman that might free her from hell and to wreak havoc on earth!
Now she has to work with him, and a team of hunters and face a destiny she's not sure she's ready for, and if she can trust her heart with Conne.r She is very glad that her young son is svisiting with his dad (her ex) at DisneyWorld in Florida while this mess in her life is going on!
“I really liked this book. I wasn't too into 'Over My Dead Body' so I was a little worried about this book but it totally rocked. A really fast-paced read that will have you begging for more!”Jennifer P wrote this review Monday, September 27, 2010. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I've read all the series to this book. It"s kinda better then Twilight. It has more passion and romance in it. Can't wait to see what adventure awaits in this book. tehe”Kamyria H wrote this review Thursday, September 23, 2010. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I liked this one. I enjoyed the variety in setting. Bardsley was able to add 'hell' as a setting, but it wasn't too dark or evil. Though you know going into the book that the problems will be resolved, I still enjoyed the story. There were quite a few new characters which were a little trickly to follow initially. Overall, a good book!”Corryn V wrote this review Saturday, September 4, 2010. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
