Donna Tartts ability to describe these different perspectives, the different worlds of the antagonists is stunning! A book one can reread every year.” see full review » see other reviews » |

It seems like Donna worked on two different novels, couldn't finish either so she stuck them togather in an unrelated and disconsorting way, and sold us all a...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“Written about children growing up. The main characters are from a dysfuntional family. I'm waivering from liking it and disliking it. The children mainly seem unhappy. I like stories that are more uplifting.

“A very enjoyable story. The main character is very likable, lovable even. I would have preferred a different ending though...”

I took a star away because I didn't find it to be a complete "5 Star" book. Maybe I missed something, but I'm trying to figure out the relationship of the Cover to the story. The twists within the story kept me on my toes, I'm afaid I think I'm still on my toes as I'm trying to have closure with the story. Pretty complex.
Anyhow, clear as mud? I do recommend this book. :)”

One day Chainsaw pulled this book out of a free box on Alberta Street. It was a hardcover edition, missing the dust cover. "Here," she said, handing it over. "This is good, it's like, a book. You read books. Read this."
Later, I was telling my co-worker Sophie all about the book. She just started laughing, and shaking her head. "What?" I said.
"I'm sorry!" she said. "...Chainsaw? You're having an affair with a woman named CHAINSAW???"
"I...what?" I said. "Oh. Um...yeah."
And Sophie shook her head, and said, "God. I want to have an affair with a woman named Chainsaw."”
