did anyone else think that the ending was rushed & didn't fit with the rest of the book? i felt this could have easily been in my top 10 until i got to the end, and then i was so disappointed that i could cry.

by the way there's a katherine neville fan club Group on here (if you click on my name you can find it in my group list) AND i found out on there about a sequal to the eight that is supposed to come out this fall....hopefully it will live up to the first one.

I bought this book a few months ago and was surprised to see that it was written well before the DaVinci Code. It has that whole historical thriller aspect to it. I really liked it.

I loved this book when I read it like 3 years ago. My aunt lent it to me and I was fascinated, I would like to have it, but I think I'll ask her to lend it to me again to re-read it because I really like re-reading books, if I've liked a book I can read it over and over and never get bored

What a fascinating read and an inspiration! I've pulled out my chess set, my new illustrated edition of HERODOTUS, and I'm flipping thru my son's 11th grade History textbook to figure out what I've missed. There's so much reference to mythology, history and chess it's riveting.

I can't tell you how many times I've read this book. If I had to give up all books but one - this is the one I would keep. The strong, independent female characters, the complex connections and intrigue get me every time. Everyone should read this book!
