The devil drops in on Moscow with a talking cat and wreaks havoc.

Unfortunately, my copy of The Master and Margarita was not annotated, so I fear I’ve missed out on much of the story. It was a slow read, with my having to stop every few pages to look something up which leads to more research, and another link and just one more link… I soon find myself lost in research! Anyway, that’s something I enjoy doing and I certainly had plenty of opportunity while reading this. I loved this book from beginning to end and found myself losing several hours at a time to this one, and I love it when that happens. The Master and Margarita is an excellent example of speculative fiction as well as a satirical commentary on politics and atheistic society in 1930’s Russia. Did I understand everything? No. Will I love going back and reading it again to pick up just a bit more of the story? Yes.

A website I found helpful while reading this:
