In the final installment of Lisa McMann's DREAM CATCHER trilogy, Janie finds herself in a dilemma a little closer to home.


Janie receives a phone call that her mother is in the hospital. Once there, she discovers it is not her mother that needs help, but a mysterious man in a coma who seems to be calling to her from his dreams.


By her side is her boyfriend, Cabel, who tries to help her as much as he can. When he starts to have terrifying dreams, Janie becomes torn between the love she has for him and what she feels is right to make him happy.


Janie is learning more and more about herself and what a Dream Catcher's life entails. The last book is a conclusion of her final decision of her life ahead, what she needs for herself, and what she wants it to be for her and Cabel

  • Janie Hannagan: Janie is a narc, and her partner and boyfriend is Cabel. Her mother, Dorothea, is always drunk and Janie has to take care of her and the house. She is the one with the choice to make. She is a dream catcher.
  • Cabel Strumheller: Cabel (Cabe) is 19, Janie's boyfriend and narc partner. He also works for Captain. He has an older brother called Charlie, and a sister-in-law called Megan. His parents are both gone. His father died in jail after lighting Cabe on fire.
  • Captain Fran Komisky: Captain Fran Komisky is Janie's boss who's also there to talk to Janie when she needs it. She is head chief of Janie and Cabel's jobs.
  • Martha Stubin: Martha Stubin is dead, but she re-appears in dreams. She was and is a dream catcher. She used to work for Captain, as well. She wrote in a green notebook about what being a dream catcher means and how it would effect Janie's life. She lived at the nursing home where Janie worked in book 1.
  • Carrie: Carrie has been Janie's (Janers) best friend ever since she moved into the neighborhood at the age of 13. Janie finds her immature and self-centred, at times, but very loyal and she loved Carrie and treasures her friendship. Carrie, too, has issues with her homelife. Her boyfriend is Stu.
  • Henry Feingold: is Janie's Biological father
  • Dorothea Hannagan: Janie's mother who is an alcoholic.
  • Cathy: Henry's friend, and UPS-lady who colletcts snow globes.
  • Charlie: Cabel's older brother. Wife is Megan
  • Megan: Charlie's wife.
  • Stu: Carrie's boyfriend, and the former owner of the car "Ethel" (a ´77 Nova) that Janie bought but had to sell after learning from Miss Stubin how dangerous driving could be. Carrie then bought the car.
