“I finished this out of dogged detemination to know if the world ended or not. Overall, the main character Jed is self obsessed and vulgar. The amount of detail about Mayan stuff is really tiring. I switched eventually to scanning parts because I got bored with the Mayan dates, names, etc. etc. Not sure I would have even finished it if I knew it was the first of a trilogy. Not planning on reading the next book.”
