“this is an adorable rhyming book to the tune of 'The Night Before Christmas' except it is made to apply to Halloween. It is about all the different creatures/costumes and customs of celebrating Halloween. This is a children's book. ”

Summary/Book Review: This is a poem that is written about Halloween but follows the rhyme scheme of “‘Twas the Night before Christmas.” The poem talks about all of the things that children do the night before Halloween. This is a great book to read the day before Halloween as the students love holiday books, and it is a holiday that most children can relate too. Children love telling stories about how they decided what costume they are going to wear, or what candy they are going to eat, and who they are going to scare. This book meets all of the students’ experiences perfectly. This book also has great pictures that show different Halloween characters and what they do to get ready for Halloween night.
Uses in the Classroom: -Discuss what children do on the night before Halloween.
-Students can write about how they connect with the events in the story.
-Children can draw and create their own Halloween costume and/or monster.
-Read aloud for the day before Halloween.
-Group discussion on Halloween experiences.
-Discuss the season.

The rhyme scheme is identical to: "The Night Before Christmas." "The night before Halloween, and all through the house, all the creatures were stirring, except for a mouse" The storyline is very funny and clever, one that students would want read to them over and over again.”
