He is the definition of an author. This book is beautifully mind-blowing. If you think your a writer, read this, and then evaluate your capabilities.

    Magic
    And who shall say—
    Whatever disenchantment follows—
    That we ever forget magic,
Or that we can ever betray,
    On this leaden earth,
    The apple-tree, the singing,
    And the gold?
This was a magical verse for me once, and still evokes the memory of emotions long past. I is from Look Homeward Angel and was published in a book of poetry/prose called A Stone, a leaf, a door. Thomas Wolfe writes some of the most amazing prose I have ever read and Eliza, his fictional mother in LHA, is frighteningly real.

I re-read this story or sections of the story every couple of months... but my favorite one from Wolfe is "On Time and the River"
