My God, this book was creepy. I found my self turning page after page, yet still absolutely disgusted by Frederick Clegg. I couldn't help but feel a bit of frustration at the ending, but it was rather realistic. I applaud it.

I think it was a rather un-interisting play on the collection of butterflies, however I found the ending anti-climactic. I guess I'm just morbid in that sense. The fact that he's still out there, doesn't bother me at all.

This was quite a chilling story about a man who starts out collecting butterflies, then moves on to setting up a habitat to collect live women.

That the relief of escape was impossible was what made this tale disturbing.

Excellent book! I loved how the story line was presented from different point of views.

this book was good but weird. Actually it just made me feel weird. It's got a 60's feel to it. The characters are complicated but well developed. It's kind of dark and has a pathological feel to it. I think John Fowles is a good writer in his own right.
