I was disappointed with this book. It is well-written and the idea and beginning was great - a traditional Indian couple who leave Calcutta and set up home in America but keep to their Bengali ways, whilst their two children are American and reject some of their heritage. However it really is a slow slow burn this book. The central character, Gogol remained uninteresting to the very end. Maybe this is intentional - I dont know. But I found the read a bit of a slog.....
