This medical thriller has a little bit of this and that. A bit of time travel and perhaps magical realism in some parts, a bit of contemporary romance, where it stems with a mystery in historical fiction with a bit of historical romance. This is one of her finest works!

I enjoyed this story, had not worked out who the guilty party was so was nicely surprised. I prefer modern medical novels but this was a nice change.

This was a great book! I couldn't put it down, started on sunday, finished by wednesday (had to put it down to go to work!). I, too, enjoy a little bit of history, and was wondering whether the medical history was true, until I saw that the author is a doctor herself. Nice thriller for the beach or pool, kept me wondering, I wasn't able to guess who did it.

I've been a Tess Gerritsen fan for a couple of years now,and always get excited when she has a new book out.
This book isn't her usual "style",as in,it's based in the old days so there isn't the usual up-to-date forensic stuff in it,but still,a brilliant story, full of mystery and as addictive as any of her books! x

loved this book and this may sound retarded, but i thought the end part about her recognizing tom was stupid, because i understand that he would look like norris, and even that of course that picture would look like him, and so she would recognize him from that picture, buy why does tom always recognize her, or did i totally miss something?
