Ally Carter’s HEIST SOCIETY is a teen version of Ocean's Eleven. With witty dialogue, absorbing characters and clever outcomes- Heist Society keeps you on your toes!
*Song: Timbaland - If We Ever Meet Again ft. Katy Perry
“That's a lovely piece," Kat said, pointing at a Louise XV armoire near the fireplace.
The man raised his eyebrows. "Did you come to steal it?"
"Darn it," Kat said with a snap of her fingers. "I knew I should have brought my big purse.”
― Ally Carter, Heist Society
Since she can remember, Katarina's relatives have been grooming her for the family business - thieving. But when Kat tries to go straight and leave the "Life" for a normal life, she's promptly kicked out of her new school for stealing the headmaster's car and mounting it on the school fountain. Although she could have done it without breaking a sweat, ironically, this time, she's innocent.
In fact, she was framed - by another highly skilled thief. Her friend and brother-in-trade Hale, with his mischievous smile and limitless bank account, has appeared out of nowhere to bring her back to the Life, back to the family Kat tried so hard to escape.
Hale has a good reason: A powerful mobster has just been robbed of his priceless art collection, and he wants to retrieve it. Only a master thief could have cracked this vault, and Kat's father isn't just on the suspect list, he IS the list.
Now, caught between Interpol and a far more deadly predator, Kat's dad needs her help. For Kat, a consummate thief in her own right, the solution is simple: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it's a spectacularly impossible job? She's got two weeks, a teenage crew, and maybe just enough misguided pride to pull off the biggest heist in history - or at least in her family's (very crooked) history.

“Another series by Ally Carter- this time you're following the antics of a girl who is the daughter of a thief. Not as good as the Gallagher Girls series, but engaging nevertheless. ”Jen C wrote this review Monday, June 17, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This was a pretty interesting book, hooked me right from the beginning and had me wondering what was going to happen the whole time. Katarina is a pretty unique character and someone who I really never read about, especially with her being so young. I like the dynamic between Katarina and Hale, Hale seems so handsome and mysterious. The whole operation that they had planned was pretty great, unrealistic I think for that age but still fun to read about it. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series and see what other "missions" they will have together.”Rebecca wrote this review Saturday, June 15, 2013.
