I'm very interested in history and have read plenty but Ambrose' style just wasn't my cup of tea. I kept trying to enjoy it but ultimately did not. I thoroughly enjoyed Ken Burns' Lewis & Clark documentary on PBS though!

Undaunted Courage, a perfect title for these courageous men. Asked by my doctor after a visit with him, if the book was the definitive story on the expedtion. I couldn't say yes or no, since it was the only book I've read on the subject. What I know is that the book was well crafted and full of detail.

Worth more than one read through as it is stuffed with historical facts. The first woman and black man to ever vote etc. so many firsts. This book tells the story of western America like the trunk of a historical tree, everything after this journey is but a limb grown from this journey. An epic work!! I love it.
