One of the first books I read by Sherrilyn Kenyon. A great story. Mythology is a favorite subject of mine and she ties in nicely.
has anyone read the new dark-hunter book yet?
So, who was your first Dark Hunter and who are your FAV's?
Kyrian was my first ;) and I just love Valerius and Zarek. Oh and Ash of course ... can't forget Ash ;)
Kyrian was also my first and favorite! Such a tormented, tragic past. And then Valerius, he comes in second then Zarek. :)
My first Dark Hunter was Night Embrace, Talon's book. But my favorite book of the series has to be Dance with the Devil. My favorite characters are Ash and the Simi, she is one of the funniest characters that I've ever read about...in any book.
The first one was Zarek but I also like Valerius, Kyrian and Ash...Cannot not mention Ash.... Ash and Zarek are probably my favorites..
Zarek's my favorite. I have a soft spot for the underdog. He's so harsh but that's how people have always treated him. He's a better "person" than even he gives himself credit for. But, yes, he can also be an idiot, haha.
Zarek is my favorite also. I loved Dance with the Devil. Have you seen the new cover for the book? I don't like it as well as the original one.
No I haven't seen the new cover. I don't know why they have to keep changing them. Must be costing them a bomb! Not that they can't afford it I guess ;)
my first was Dance With the Devil...I didnt know it was a series. I was confused...i didnt know who squires were, appolites or any of that stuff....it took a while to catchon. Fantasy Lover was the last book I read....If i had read that first, i probably wouldnt have continued...i liked it ok, but i dont think i would have continued with the series.
I haven't seen the new cover. I wonder why they keep spending money on them. Sure, they can probably afford it but there's nothing wrong with any of the original covers.
This is definitely a series you have to pick up from the beginning. They explain some things throughout the story but it's easier going in order. I still often have to go back and reread sections or entire boks, haha. I liked Julian's story. Grace is a sturdy girl and he likes that, heeheehee.
I read Fantasy Lover first without realizing it was a prequel to the Dark Hunters, which I appreciated because it gave me the choice to become addicted to the series or not since it was relatively a stand-alone (as are most of the books). My favorite DH is Zarek and my favorite book is Dance with the Devil. Running a close second is Were-Hunter Wren and Unleash the Night (love those blond dreadlocks :)
I have been trying to figure out if they were more stand a lone novels or imparative that you read in order...Thanks for your review.
I really love what Sherrilyn did with her books. She really did all her old greek, rome, etc history and myth research and that made her books great!
Anyway, the story plot is quite good, quite different with other romance books that I owez read but I'm not too sure about the fight between Julian and his brother. Grace is a kind-spirit, strong-will woman who still want to help Julian although he in rule is her slave and he seems doesn't have any hope of freeing himself from the book. Julian is quite a good warrior and quite gentleman in his own way but I think it's quite funny for him to have women fawning on him, guys hate him (thanks to his mom, hehe..)
Actually, Sherri holds a PhD in Acient Civilizations. They mythology and historical detail are pretty second nature to her. :) She talks about all this at her book signings. If she is ever anywhere near you, by all means, go! Her talk is really interesting.
I don't think she's going to anywhere near me. From what I've seen in the newsletter (I sign to get that newsletter, hehe..), she always in the state and I'm quite a loooooooong way from her. How I wish I can go to her book signings, must be interesting to listen what she said.
yeah, i agree with ladyscot! Can't wait to read her future books, especially about Acheron :D
This is a fantastic read. The mythology brings the story to a deeper level and the characters are wholly three dimensional. Kenyon is a master of the paranormal.
she has me hoked the minte that i pick them up

I have read all of her books and always buy her new titles as soon as they come in the market. She is funny, good writer that keeps you hooked as soon as you read the fist page. The only dissapointment was the book based in seattle that was a little to good cop bad cop.
I loved this book. I really didn't think I would, but I did. Sherrilyn Kenyon is light, funny and knows how to entertain. I am excited to read more...
Great! You will love her plot and especially her humor from a male character perspective. The best part is you started from the first series. Tri the next two and you will definitely be hooked and know why Sherrilyn call us her minions....let me know!
do you hear anymore about Julian and grace through the rest of the series... I saw in an excerpt of night pleasures that they are mentioned. Just wondering?
They are not main characters, but they both pop up now and then in more than one book in the series. Gotta love Julian. :)
yes you do hear more about Julian and Grace . You would see more of them in Night Pleasures because there is a connection between Julian and the main character , Kyrian.
How come on Night Pleasures, it says that's the first book? I thought this one was first..? What's up with that?
