This story was about the turbulent relationship between two sisters, Celeste and Ronnie and their relationship with their mother, Odella. Fascinating about their past and present struggles and how they overcame them.

Excellent for self-reflection and understanding the past in order to move forward on this journey.

It was well written and let you know that everyones family is the same. We all go thru something and hide secrets. We are all like someone in our family. Some way it might be the way we walk, talk or just how we carry ourselves

If I am not mistaken, one of these authors is from upstate New York and it brought some familiarity to the read. I loved it.

This was good. People need to accept people for who they are and not try to change them. Quit trying to keep up with the Joneses and there's nothing like forgiveness.

Although the book starts out dark and brooding, there is resolution and light at the end of a very long tunnel. I enjoyed the soul-searching and family drama because it was so real. For those who are impatient with slowly-developing novels, just stick with it. You'll enjoy this book.
