  • Andrew Ryan: The creator of Rapture. Andrew Ryan embodies Ayn Rand's objectivism and holds on to this philsophy very strongly throughout his life.
  • Bill Mcdonagh: Bill was brought invited to join Andrew Ryan's team of elite individuals that would be allowed access into Rapture when he proved himself worthy to Ryan through his work ethic and personal values.
  • Frank Fontaine: The captain of a ship that supplies fish to Rapture.
  • Sullivan: Andrew Ryan's Head of Security. A former cop.
  • Brigid Tenenbaum: A scientist working in Rapture.
  • Roland Wallace: A worker that is friends with Bill.
  • Redgrave: One of Ryan's main security officers. He is very loyal to Ryan and "the Great Chain."
  • Elaine: Secretary of Andrew Ryan and love interest of Bill McDonaugh.
  • Karlosky: Ryan's most trusted security officer.
  • Sophie: Daughter of Bill and Elaine McDonaugh.
  • Cavendish: One of Ryan's main security officers.
  • Sander Cohen: An artist invited to join Andrew Ryan's elite group of individuals that will migrate to Rapture. Sander Cohen was wildly popular on the surface but decided to continue his art below the sea. He can be a bit flaky and showed signs of mental instability throughout the book. Cohen's sexuality is never mentioned in the game, though he appears to show preference to males over females, making him the only non-heterosexual character in the book.
  • Greavy: Add a description of this character.
  • Martin: A "pet" of Sander Cohen. He assists Cohen in the killing of three people in his first experience being under the influence of plasmids and ADAM.
  • Diane Mcclintock: Andrew Ryan's love interest for show. Though Ryan never made any real commitment to marrying Diane, she played the part of his love interest for the sake of public appearances.
  • Reggie: Main body guard of Frank Fontaine/Atlas.
  • Frank Fonataine: A grifter and con man bent on gaining access to Rapture.
  • Steinman: A plastic surgeon that was invited by Ryan to join the elite group of people that would inhabit Rapture. Eventually, Steinman becomes insane and is only driven into further insanity by the intake of plasmids and ADAM.
  • Poole: A nosy newspaper writer. Follower of Andrew Ryan.
  • Harker
  • Sinclair: A business man who owns a large portion of Rapture.
  • Dr. Suchong: One of two scientists that assists in the development of plasmids.

  • Dr. Lamb: Dr. Sophia Lamb, a psychologist studying the social experiment that is Rapture.
